Coronation of His Majesty The King & Her Majesty The Queen Consort
Across our County, many towns and villages will be celebrating the coronation of King Charles III this Saturday in lots of different ways with communities once again coming together for this historic event. Like other counties across the United Kingdom, Suffolk played a special part on 11th September 2022, just days after her Majesty the Queen passed away, with 24 towns formally announcing the Proclamation of the Accession of King Charles III including a county event in Ipswich.
Suffolk County Council have published a video and created a photobook that includes a selection of photos from across Suffolk featuring towns and villages.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The tiny hamlet of Herringswell is situated in an environmentally sensitive area in West Suffolk.
The Parish covers over 2,000 acres and has been known as many different names through the ages, these include: Hadrinwell, Haryngwelle, Herenswell, Herkingswell,
Herningawalla, Herynggeswell and Hyringwella. Herringswell has seen human habitation since the very earliest of Stone Age times when the climate and woodland had a
similarity to that of today with birch, pine and spruce with areas of open grassland.
