The tiny hamlet of Herringswell is situated in an environmentally

sensitive area in West Suffolk

   

The Parish covers over 2,000 acres and has been known

as many different names through the ages, these include: Hadrinwell, Haryngwelle, Herenswell, Herkingswell,

Herningawalla, Herynggeswell and Hyringwella.

   

Herringswell has seen human habitation since the very earliest of

Stone Age times when the climate  and woodland had a

similarity to that of today with birch, pine and spruce with

areas of open grassland.

Monday, 10 January 2022 at 7.00 pm
