Roses Roses

The tiny hamlet of Herringswell is situated in an environmentally sensitive area in West Suffolk

The Parish covers over 2,000 acres and has been known as many different names through the ages, these include: Hadrinwell, Haryngwelle, Herenswell, Herkingswell, Herningawalla, Herynggeswell and Hyringwella.

Herringswell has seen human habitation since the very earliest of Stone Age times when the climate and woodland had a similarity to that of today with birch, pine and spruce with areas of open grassland.
